3° Award Canevale della Sardegna dedicato alla Sartiglia di Oristano

Radio club Team DX Coros  MDXC  Museo della Radio Mario Faedda e la sezione ARI Porto Torres   organizzano il terzo Award Carnevale della  Sardegna in sardo (Carrasegare Sardo). La terza edizione verrà dedicata alla Sartiglia di Oristano.

Il Carnevale in Sardegna è un evento molto sentito e soprattutto molto variegato, si perde
nella notte dei tempi con le sue radici pagane e arcaiche è tutt’altra cosa rispetto al
Carnevale tradizionale e offre un vero spettacolo.
Il carnevale con riti ancestrali è soprattutto quello delle zone interne dell’isola, dove si
possono trovare delle maschere e figure a metà strada tra uomo e animale.
Le principali maschere tradizionali sarde che iniziano la loro uscita il 17 Gennaio, giornata
di Sant’Antonio Abate sono: Mamuthones e Issohadores di Mamoiada, Boes e Merdules di
Ottana, Thurpos di Orotelli, Fonni con Urtos e Buttudos, Samugheo con i Mamutzones,
Orani con Su Bundu.
Altro Carnevale famoso è quello della Sartiglia di Oristano, quest'anno l'award è proprio dedicato alla giostra equestre di Oristano con i cavalieri mascherati che devono centrare una stella in corsa.
Da ricordare il carnevale di Bosa alcune maschere S’Attittadoras mentre camminano per
le strade durante la sfilata, chiedono ai passanti, soprattutto alle donne, “Unu tichirigheddu
de latte”, una goccia di latte per il neonato morente, vari significati sessuali si celano dietro
questa ritualità.
In quasi tutti i paesi dell’isola sono in festa per la sei giorni che parte dal Giovedì Grasso al
Martedì Grasso, si svolgono sfilate di carri Allegorici tradizionali, e tante manifestazioni.
Ricordiamo il carnevale di Tempio Pausania uno dei più importanti dell’isola, stile
Viareggio, con grandi carri e manifestazioni. Il carnevale di Ittiri è famoso per la giornata di
giovedì Grasso, (giornata lardajolina) in quanto si usava mettere delle corone di alloro e
lardo nelle case e nelle attività della persona da “infamare” che durante l’anno o gli anni
precedenti aveva commesso qualcosa, o aveva la fama di essere tirchio, cattivo pagatore
e altro. Negli anni la tradizione si è un po’ persa, oramai è diventato un modo per farsi
pubblicità, e i locali pubblici il giorno addobbati con l’alloro offrono gratuitamente fave e
lardo ai clienti. Le sfilate dei carri normalmente si svolgon dopo il
Giovedì Grasso. Come radioamatori celebreremo l’evento via radio e Sabato 14 Febbraio 2026 
saremo ON AIR dalla Sala B di via dante 17 del  museo della radio  Mario Faedda Di Ittiri. 

Periodo dello svolgimento: dalle ore 6:00 UTC del 11 FEBBRAIO  alle ore 23:00 UTC del 18 Febbraio
2026 . Al Diploma possono partecipare tutti gli OM/YL ed SWL del mondo.

Frequenze d' uso: dai 10 ai 160 metri in HF e sul satellite QO100.
Modi di emissione: SSB, CW, FT8, FT4, FT2, RTTY.
Per ottenere il diploma occorre collezionare 90 punti così ripartiti: stazioni IS0/IM0/TK/DL 30 punti 
stazioni jolly IR0SAR, IQ0AK, IQ0AAI 45 punti 
Per i qso fatti via satellite QO100 basta un solo qso per ottenere il diploma.

Le stesse stazioni possono essere ricollegare sulla stessa banda o modo in giorni diversi oppure lo stesso giorno ma in bande o modi diversi.

Per l’ottenimento del diploma cacciatori, hunters, non è necessario inoltrare l’estratto log, il
tutto viene rilevato dal log on-line sul sito mapforham.com e dai link delle pagine qrz.com.

Per gli SWL, e’ necessario inoltro estratto log alla mail iq0ak74@gmail.com  è consigliata
iscrizione al portale mapfoham.com . I QSO ascoltati verranno rilevati dagli inserimenti,

Rapporti: le Stazioni   passeranno il nominativo del
corrispondente e RS, RST.  È sottointeso che una  stazione può fare QSO con lo stesso call 1 volta al giorno nella stessa banda e stesso modo. Si può collegare nella stessa banda più volte lo stesso giorno ma in modo operativo diverso.

The ARI Porto Torres Section and the Radio Club Team DX Coros Museo della Radio Mario Faedda are organizing the third Sardinia Carnival Award. This edition will be dedicated to the Sartiglia of Oristano.

Carnival in Sardinia is a deeply felt and, above all, highly diverse event. It dates back to the mists of time, with its pagan and archaic roots. It is completely different from traditional Carnival and offers a truly spectacular spectacle.
Carnival with ancestral rites is especially common in the island's inland areas, where masks and figures that are halfway between human and animal can be found. The main traditional Sardinian masks that begin their appearance on January 17th, the day of Sant'Antonio Abate, are: Mamuthones and Issohadores of Mamoiada, Boes and Merdules of Ottana, Thurpos of Orotelli, Fonni with Urtos and Buttudos, Samugheo with the Mamutzones, and Orani with Su Bundu.
Another famous Carnival, the one highlighted by our award, is the Sartiglia of Oristano. The certificate is dedicated to the equestrian joust of Oristano, with masked knights attempting to hit a star while racing.

It is considered one of the oldest equestrian jousts in the Mediterranean. The name Sartiglia derives from the Spanish "Sortija," which in turn derives from the Latin "sorticula," meaning ring. It has been a propitiatory rite for agriculture for about 500 years; the belief was based on the "centers": the more stars pierced by the running knight's sword, the more prosperous the new year will be.

The main protagonist of the festival is "su componidori," an androgynous mask, essentially male or female, born from a public dressing-up and representing the leader of the race.

Finally, another important feature are the drummers and trumpeters, almost always present at equestrian jousts.

Worthy of note is the Bosa Carnival. Some S'Attittadoras masks, while walking through
the streets during the parade, ask passersby, especially women, for "Unu tichirigheddu de latte," a drop of milk for the dying newborn. Various sexual meanings lie behind this ritual.
Almost every town on the island celebrates for the six days from Fat Thursday to Fat Tuesday, featuring parades of traditional floats and numerous events.
The Tempio Pausania Carnival, one of the most important on the island, is Viareggio-style, with large floats and events. The Ittiri Carnival is famous for Fat Thursday (the "Lardajolina" day), as it was customary to place wreaths of laurel and lard on the homes and businesses of those who had committed crimes during the previous year or years, or who were known to be stingy, bad payers, or otherwise.

Over the years, the tradition has faded somewhat; it has now become a means of publicity, and public establishments decorated with laurel on the day offer free broad beans and lard to their customers.

The float parades usually take place on the Saturday or Sunday after Fat Thursday. As radio amateurs, we will celebrate the event via radio, and on Saturday 14, 2026, at radiomuseum Mario Faedda Di Ittiri will, of course, be ON AIR from Room B at Via Dante 17. 

The competition is open to all radio amateurs and SWL operators worldwide. The rules for the award, which will be on air from February 11 to 18, 2026, can be found on the official website of the section:

ENGLISH RULES

Competition period: from 6:00 UTC on February 11 to 23:00 UTC on February 18, 2026. All OM/YL and SWL worldwide can participate in the Award. Bands: 

Frequencies used: 10 to 160 meters on HF and on the QO100 satellite.
Modes: SSB, CW, FT8, FT4, FT2 , RTTY. 
To obtain the award, you must collect 90 points, distributed as follows: IS0/IM0/TK/DL stations: 30 points
IR0SAR, IQ0AK, IQ0AAI wildcard stations: 45 points
For QSOs made via the QO100 satellite all mode (2,4 ghz)  only one QSO is sufficient to obtain the award.

To obtain the Hunters Award, it is not necessary to submit a log extract; everything is collected from the online log on the mapforham.com website and from the links on the qrz.com pages. For SWLs, please send a log extract to iq0ak74@gmail.com.

Registration on the mapfoham.com portal is recommended. Listened QSOs will be included in the entries. For clarification, please write to the Award Manager at: diplomi.ariportotorres(at)gmail.com Reports: Stations will transmit their correspondent's callsign and RS, RST.

It is understood that a station may make a QSO with the same callsign once per day on the same band and in the same mode. It is possible to connect on the same band multiple times on the same day, but with different operating modes. The digital Award can be downloaded free of charge in the following days from the Mapforham.com portal (it also works without registration, but we recommend it).

For special requests for parchment printing, please email diplomi.ariportotorres@gmail.com to all stations achieving the minimum score below: 90 points, meaning three QSOs with all IS0 radio stations and two QSOs with Radioclub stations are sufficient, in any operating mode permitted by these regulations.

IS0 stations are worth 30 points. IR0SAR and IQ0 stations are worth 45 points. For satellite QSOs, just one contact is enough to obtain the certificate, 30 points.

Obviously, more QSOs are expected, so as to climb the rankings and also have both QSL cards. All  amateurs radio will receive e-QSL cards via email, which will be identical but with different callsigns. QSL cards will be accepted via the bureau. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place Amateur Radio Operators (MIXED MODE) Including Satellite QO100.
